Did You Know a Full Professional Match Was Already Filmed on iPhone?

It sounds like a sales pitch, but it isn't: a full professional live match was broadcast by a network using only iPhone. No traditional broadcast cameras.

On May 21, 2026, Apple announced that Apple TV would air, on May 23, the Major League Soccer (MLS) match between LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo FC — shot entirely on iPhone 17 Pro. It was the first time a major professional live sports broadcast was shot entirely on iPhone.

According to Apple, the iPhone's compact form factor made it possible to position cameras in spots around the stadium inaccessible to traditional broadcast equipment — producing new, closer-to-the-action angles impossible with conventional broadcast cameras.

The iPhone 17 Pro has three 48MP Fusion cameras, equivalent to eight lenses in a compact body, plus pro video features like Apple Log 2. This isn't the first time either: in September 2025, Apple already used iPhone for moments during a baseball game — that phone now sits in the National Baseball Hall of Fame's permanent collection.

The point isn't only the newest model. The camera technology that today can shoot an entire professional broadcast has been evolving generation after generation — meaning a well-kept, well-graded iPhone from a previous generation still delivers professional-level results for everyday use.

That's exactly why Pratika focuses on pre-owned iPhone Grade A+: the camera remains one of the top reasons people buy, and that holds for previous-generation units too, not just the newest release. A solid selling point for your own customers.
